KFFC 10 celebrates Asian-Canadian arts through all media. While screening our movies you can enjoy an Asian media art exhibition, the sculpture of STATUE OF PEACE by Kim Seo-Kyung and Kim Eun-Sung which invites all public for free participation on May 26th, 27th and June 4th at McCord Stewart Museum!

The STATUE OF PEACE is a renowned sculpture, depicting a tragic time in human history, when girls were “comfort women” who were forced into sexual labor during World War II. This sculpture was created in 2011 and toured from city to city in South Korea and around the world. The sculpture finally arrived in Canada in 2022 for exhibits at Toronto Metropolitan University and OCAD University, and it has now arrived in Montreal thanks to Canadian artists Minsook Lee, Hong Kal and Insoon Ha who transported it here via road trip. The Statue of Peace’s journey will be documented in an organic way.

ANONYMOUS by Sojung Banhg is an interactive 3D real-time rendered cinematic VR. The story concerns the life of an old man living alone and remembering his life. The environment and character were created using cardboard textures. The audience can interact and experience immersive spaces. Featured on May 26, 27 and June 4, 2023
